She packages the food in plastic bags which she hangs up once a day at the fence.
"In the current situation, homeless people and other marginalised folks are experiencing tougher lives than most of us who have the privilege to quarantine and wash our hands… I saw the Gabenzäune movement pop-up all around Berlin and felt that it was necessary to set one up at S-Bahn Neukolln. My friend and I made signs and started hanging food packages there. I posted about it on social media and started collecting donations to ensure that I could continuously provide food packages. At the moment, I’m hanging at least 2-3 packages every day. I enjoy the interactions I have with them and providing food (a basic necessity), but it’s also important to let them know that we acknowledge their existence and haven’t forgotten about them. In a system that doesn’t support everyone, we have to ensure that we support each other."
