Member of Women Photograph
Marzena has studied photography at The University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund (Germany). The focus of her work lies on environmental issues. It has been published and exhibited internationally.
Her practice is driven by a deep desire to connect with nature and her pictures often oscillate between inner and outer landscapes. Marzena is drawn to issues that are connected to her personal experiences such as migration and the question how an environment shapes our identity or how we as humans define a place.
Lately, her fascination with rough nature and extreme weather has brought her to the North and the Arctic, where she explores the lives of small communities living in remote and inaccessible environments. She has spent almost three years at a Weather Station on Iceland .
She is interested in topics including nature, home, belonging, identity, isolation, environment, science, weather and climate change.
Her images can be found in exhibitions, magazines, newspapers and in her books.
Marzena speaks German, English and Polish.
